Jeyanthi R is an Irula Community Researcher & Additional Programme Coordinator at People and Nature Collectives, Keystone Foundation. She has been engaged with Radio Kotagiri 90.4 MHz and Nilgiri Seemai Suddhi. She has had relevant training in community media and barefoot journalism. Her mediums are writing and audio recording. Her work on understanding of community histories and Irula Traditional Cultural Expressions has been ongoing for nearly 6-8 years. Her familiarity with community media initiatives has helped her formulate ideas about the need to communicate community histories within communities, the nuances of indigenous languages, and intergenerational knowledge transfer, especially of cultural techniques.
